For the industrial use of magnets, there are three pillars: sweeper, classifier and separator. These three categories and their relevant magnets are essential for the operation of warehouses, loading docks, construction areas, conveyor belts and various industries. Without them, there will be more accidents, lower quality control and budget overruns.
Sweeper
Electromagnetic sweepers are used in many industries, usually on the floor of a warehouse. Firstly, they reduce the cost of damaged equipment such as flat tires. Second, removing ferrous metal waste can reduce the chance of employee injury. Some magnetic fragments usually left on the warehouse floor can also be recollected to save money.
Sweepers are particularly important at airports because they can save punctured aircraft tires. If an airplane tire is punctured, it may throw the airline's daily operations into chaos. Flights will be delayed and sometimes even cancelled, causing operators to face expensive maintenance costs and dissatisfied leaflets. Who does not want to improve security protocols in their business?
Classifier
Industrial magnets are used to classify magnetic and non-magnetic materials. Similar to how suppliers classify coins in the mining industry, classifiers are used to separate metals from ore. The food industry is another important supporter of magnetic separation methods. It is not impossible to lose nuts or bolts when working between machines, but obviously, manufacturers and distributors do not want to lose some metal in their products. If it is allowed to pass and enter the distribution stage without sorting, the consumer may bite or swallow metal fragments badly.
Separator
Similar to classifiers, they are also used in many industries, especially mining. Some common separators include suspended plate magnets above the conveyor belt, self-cleaning cross-belt separator, and magnetic drum separator, which is actually a large roller on the drum. When continuous magnetism is required (even if the power is off, the electromagnet is excluded), permanent magnets such as neodymium and ceramic are also the best choices.
